4K Video Recorders: Just because your camera has the ability to capture ultra high-definition 4k video, your camera probably isn’t saving the full 4k signal if you are using in-camera compact flash or SD cards. To capture true UHD 4k video, completely uncompressed, you will need to download a video directly to a tethered, sand-alone video recorder. Costing between several hundred and several thousand dollars, video recorders typically accept an uncompressed video signal at up to 120 fps. The best, such as the ATOMOS Shogun feature color-calibrated touchscreen monitors, which can display the 4k in real time.
