If you're seeking a smartphone that looks a bit like a digital camera, there are quite a few options other than the Sony Xperia Z1S. However if you'd like your smartphone to have some camera-like controls and features to make it easier to shoot good photos, the Xperia Z1S is going to be a model worth considering. Sony has given this smartphone a dedicated shutter button on the edge of the unit that makes it more natural to shoot photos versus only having an on-screen shutter button. You also can use the smartphone's volume button as a digital zoom switch.

Nikon unveils two new affordable ILCs, plus a new AF-S NIKKOR lens and teleconverter

Aimed at those looking for a compact, yet powerful ILC cameras, Nikon has just revealed two new mirrorless cameras: the Nikon 1 S2 and Nikon 1 J4. The J4 builds upon the Nikon 1 J3 from last year, with some new enhancements, like a 1.4 million dot touch screen LCD, a newly developed 18.4MP CX-format CMOS image sensor (with no low pass filter), and a slightly different body design. The S2 targets those wanting a simple, minimalist camera that not only captures great photos, but is also easy on the pocketbook. While the kit price comes in at just $450, the S2 still sports some nice specs, like a 14.2MP CX-format CMOS image sensor, 20fps burst at full resolution, a powerful AF system, their EXPEED 4A processor, and much more. Canon adds two new ultra wide-angle EF lenses & a white version of the EOS Rebel SL1

Early this morning, Canon proudly announced three new EOS products. The first two are some fresh "ultra wide-angle" EF lenses, which include the Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM and the EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM. The former is the first wide-angle L-series glass from Canon to include their proven optical image stabilization; something that's usually only found on their long telephoto L-series lenses. The latter is an affordable model aimed at crop body DSLRs, which offers a nice wide view and their newer STM (stepping motor) technology, making it a great option for both stills and video...
