We spent the day toting Sony's new advanced compact around New York City
We took Sony's new large-sensor compact, the RX100, out for a spin and found this pocket-friendly street machine's performance to be promising.

The one-inch 20.2MP sensor is obviously this little camera's biggest selling point, but one shouldn't gloss over the full-time manual controls, which we found to be both intuitive and snappy to click through, especially on the fly.

Does Nikon's latest pro-level body live up to its lineage?

Flower Power
Q. What are some methods you can use to make flowers look interesting?

A. One of the most delicious things about flowers from a photographer's point of view is the translucency of the petals of many species. Instead of lighting it from the front, you can look for backlighting. You can get this outdoors by getting down on the ground and shooting up through them or you can put a setting or rising sun behind the flower. I'll also often use a lightbox and sit the flower on it.
